BURKE Communications recently created a new logo and branding image for client Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. The rebranding included a new logo, guest “Welcome” brochure, new church membership materials as well as new church interior signage.
“Friendship has such a long and rich history of serving Charlotte but needed to express an image representing the church today” says Jack Burke, President and CEO of BURKE. “While it may not seem important to some for a church to maintain an updated brand image, we believe it’s actually critical in order to stay relevant with it’s congregation. We think we created a design that combines not only the traditional nature and history of the church but also a welcoming message.”
In its redesign, BURKE replaced the previous logo incorporating an old-style global map and color scheme of brown and green with a new logo design featuring a rugged cross in the shape of an “F” with several inflections of bright colors. The guest “Welcome” materials incorporated the new logo and design style with bright, colorful imagery of the church interior, its missions and the diversity of its membership.
“It was very important to us that we present an image of who we really are, not only a mission-driven church community but one that welcomes all people,” said Dr. Paxton G. Hughes, Executive Minister of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. “We think the new logo and design does just that.”
BURKE worked hand-in-hand with church staff on the new design as well as strategies and tactics of implementing the new branding. The new logo and design styles are expected to be used on a variety of new ministry materials and outreach materials in the year ahead.
